KB Instructors & Staff Members
Our staff members have spent many years devoted to pursuing excellence in their field and have attained a certain level of expertise to qualify them as instructors and trainers. Through extensive training, certification and dedication, our staff has attained mastery in their fields and now enjoy sharing their skill and passing it on to our members. Here are a few of KB Fitness's staff members:
Kathy Burgett (Owner/Personal Coach)
KB has been teaching/coaching exercise and healthy lifestyle habits since 1978.
KB graduated from Washburn University in 1982 with a degree in Phys. Ed. with emphasis in dance and coaching. She received her ACE Personal Training Certification in 1992; an ACE Nutritional Certification in 1996; and has continued to develop her knowledge with a numerous certifications throughout the years with all the hottest and latest trends in the fitness arena. KB currently teaches Cardio Kickboxing, Body Sculpting, Power Yoga, Pilates Reformer Classes as well as the Yoga/Pilates Fusion Classes at her studio. In addition, KB develops fitness programs for various corporations in the community and teaches on-site at those facilities as well.
Recently moving KB Fitness Studio into a brand new location, KB is excited to be in the Blossom Valley Community and looks forward to helping those who live and work in the area find a comfortable place to meet other neighbors, exercise, and have fun at the same time. "KB's work-outs, KB FitTV, can also be seen early mornings on KRON 4. Or the show can also be viewed through streaming video on the KB FitTV web-site, www.KBFitTV.com. DVD's are also available at the KB Fitness On-line Fitness Store.

Erma Kalf (Yoga/Pilates Instructor)
Erma is a certified yoga instructor with the White Lotus Foundation of Santa Barbara. The style she teaches is traditional yoga (ashtanga), while she usually incorporates some Vinyasa Flow in the form of either Suria Namaskar or Warriors or Trigonasana asanas. The class comprises Prana Yana (breathing) Ashtanga asanas (strength and flexibility) as well as Shavasana (meditation/relaxation).
Erma also holds certificates of the AFAA as well as of the University of Hayward for Group Exercise and a certificate for Mat Pilates with Stott of Canada. "The above format can be done by beginners, but intermediate and advanced yoga students will like it as well. Of course, all beginners will graduate to begin intermediate students with Erma's extensive teaching skills." - Erma Kalf

Asya Ramizova (Zumba Instructor - Pilates Reformer Instructor)
Asya is an accomplished international fitness and aerobic competitor - seven time Bulgarian national champion in sports aerobics, individual and trio - winning 2nd place in World Championship -2002.
Asya holds a Masters degree in Sports Journalism-National Sport Academy from the University, Sofia, Bulgaria.
Bachelors degree in coaching aerobic gymnastics-National Sport Academy, Univeristy, Sofia, Bulgaria.
In addition, Asya holds professional certifications in Group Exercise, Pilates Reformer, Personal Training & Pilates Reformer.

Valeria Soto (Zumba Instructor/Personal Trainer)
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina to an American-Argentinean family, Valeria Soto liked dancing, singing, and moving her body to music from an early age. At eight, she was a student and performer at Maria Amuchastegui's Tap Dance Studio. Later, she studied Contemporary Dance for six years with ballerina Vanina Bagli. Valeria also studied with Ms. Luciana Glanc, and at "Casa del Angel" . Upon her recent arrival in San Jose, Valeria immediately pursued further dance and music studies and activities. She is presently studying Contemporary, Modern, Jazz, Dance Tech and Lyrical dancing at Studio 10 in Cupertino, Bellydancing at Halanda Studio, where she has performed with Karavansaray Dance Company, and Voice with Maestro Carl Franzen. Certified Zumba Instructor by Beto Perez in: Zumba level I, Zumba level II, Zumba Toning, and ZumbaTomic. She has been told many times her classes are different, because of her music, and the variety of rhythms she likes to dance to. From Waltz to Reggae-ton, and from Rumba to Bellydance, you'll never know what to expect! :

Marlon Rosales (Bootcamp Trainer)
Hello Everyone,
I am a young, athletic 23 year old male, and my goal is to whip you in shape ! I have dedicated eight years of my life working hard at my craft, most recently playing for Southern Oregon University Football. I have been awarded numerous award through out my eight year span, including induction in to the 2005 Charlie Wediymer High School All-Star Game and being all-american. I recently graduated from Southern Oregon University with a Bachelors of Science in Health and Fitness Management with several certificates. My dream has always been to help people and I really take this dream to heart, which is the reason I have created this Boot Camp class. ANYBODY can do it! Whether you’re an exercise “newbie” or a triathlete looking for some cross training, you can get a great workout at "Brownstar Boot Camp" because we scale it to your current fitness level. Even though we call the workout a “boot camp”, I won’t yell at you. We utilize positive coaching techniques to coax you to work harder than you will on your own, but still within your own capabilities.This is a very intense 45 minute designed to shred body fat.
